Filmmaking Boot Camp
Do you have a story to tell? Have you always wanted to make a film but thought you need a big budget and a big film crew to make it happen? Don’t get frustrated, get trained. You can make films yourself, on a shoestring budget. This filmmaking boot camp is designed for you.
Hollywood Silver Screen Introductory Filmmaking Program is an intensive training boot camp that provides you with the basics of filmmaking, from concept to completion of a film, ready for distribution. The course is taught by award-winning directors and producers from Hollywood, USA. The small group boot camp is held at various cities around the world. You don’t need any prior experience or training. The program is perfect for beginners who want to be able to pick up a camera, or a cell phone, to create compelling visual stories on a shoestring budget.
Low budget does not have to mean low quality. With the right training, you will understand the critical technical elements that allow you to create films at high production values with basic tools.
Expert Instructors
The course is taught by award-winning directors and producers from Hollywood, USA. Occasionally, we will also be bringing special guests who are other successful filmmakers to come and share their experience with you. It is the perfect opportunity to network with others in the industry.
The Intensive Program
The bootcamp consists of 4 modules: script development, pre-production, production and post-production. In addition, there is a bonus segment on marketing and distribution.
Module 1. Script Development
The script development module takes you from a basic story concept through a structural process to create a captivating character-driven story, in an industry-standard script form. We will discuss a typical story structure following the “hero journey” and character archetypes.
Module 2. Pre-Production
The pre-production module will break down the script to prepare for all aspects of a production, from casting, crewing, to locations, props, set designs, and more. The module will cover the basics of how to develop a story board, a production board and call sheets.
Module 3. Production
The production module will cover cinematography, lighting, audio and aspects of building a scene and transitions between scenes.
Module 4. Post Production
The post-production module will discuss digital editing, including how to construct a scene, transitions, syncing audio, color grading, and audio design.
Bonus Segment. Marketing & Distribution
The bonus segment will discuss marketing and distribution in the US market, looking at options for distributions and their pros and cons.
Advanced Filmmaking Program
Once you graduate from the Introductory Program, you will be eligible to enroll in the Advanced Filmmaking Program where you will roll up your sleeve and get a hand-on experience on filmmaking. In the Advanced Program, you will write, direct, shoot, and edit a short film in one weekend. The program is not open to the public.
